Three days Lent (Commemoration of Prophet Jonah) will be celebrated from Monday, 30th January to Thursday, 2nd February 2023.
The Fast of Nineveh or The Three Day Fast is the shortest of the five canonical fasts observed by the Indian Orthodox Church. The three days lent is a lent of attrition and repentance commemorating the repentance of the people of Nineveh at the preaching of Prophet Jonah. This lent starts three weeks before the start of the Great Lent, which this year starts on the 30th January 2023.
On Wednesday, 1st February 2023 there will be evening prayer at church followed by Holy Qurbana.
“Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."
Repent, Fast , Come and Pray for forgiveness!
We commemorate the great event of the exaltation of St. Mary and celebrate our faith on her departure to heavenly abode, following an observance of a fifteen days of fasting and lent , seeking the blessing of God through the special intercession of Saint Mary.
On the Feast of the Holy Cross or Exaltation of the Cross (or Triumph of the Cross), we honour the Holy Cross by which Christ redeemed the world.
Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter that marks the beginning of Holy Week, the holiest of weeks, in which the most important moments of Christ's life take place, which includes the suffering and torture.
