Praarambholsavam / Inauguration of New Sunday School Year

“And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them.” St.Mark 10:16

On January 19, 2025, our Church marked the beginning of the new Sunday School year with a special service following the Holy Qurbana. The event was led by our Vicar, Rev. Fr. Varghese John, who inaugurated the new year by lighting the ceremonial lamp. As part of the occasion, the congregation joined in singing the liturgical hymn Velivu Niranjo, a beautiful expression of worship.

Rev. Fr. Varghese John was joined in lighting the lamp by several esteemed members of the Church, including Mr. V.V. Joseph, a senior member; Mr. Bijoy K. George, Trustee; Mrs. Shali Saji, Head Teacher; Mrs. Siny Thankachan, Central Zone Exam Board Coordinator; Mrs. Tina John, Central & Southwest Zone Diocese Coordinator, and Deputy Head Teacher Mrs. Beksy Anish.

Adding a special touch to the ceremony, one child from the Reception class and one from Grade 12 participated in the lamp lighting, symbolizing the milestone age groups of our Sunday School.

With the blessings of the Triune God, we welcomed a new year filled with opportunities for learning and growth. We are excited to support our 106 students in their spiritual education and journey throughout the year.
