With deep heartfelt sadness and sorrow we announce the demise of our Spiritual Father and Supreme Head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, His Holiness (HH) Moran Mar Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan on 12th of July 2021 at 02:35 hours IST.
In recollecting the early days, His Holiness was born on the 30th of August 1946 to Late Kollannur Iype and Late Pulikkottil Kunjeetty. As a youth, His Holiness sought to lead a spiritual life by joining the Orthodox Theological Seminary and graduated to be called to the order of Priesthood thereafter.In the year 1985 he was consecrated to the Orders of Episcopa (Bishop).
On 1st November 2010, His Holiness was enthroned as the 8th Catholicos and Malankara Metropolitan who is the 91st Primate and sits on the Apostolic throne of St Thomas the Apostle.
During this time of mourning, our hearts and minds are rekindled with gratitude of blessings received from His Holiness through the Consecration of our Church in September 2013.
May His Holiness now rest in peace with all hosts of Saints and forefathers of our Church in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

We joyously hosted and celebrated the inaugural Sunday School Convocation, commemorating the outstanding achievements of our graduates.
The first period of our liturgical year begins at the end of October or at the beginning of November, on the Sunday between October 30th and November 5th. It is the beginning of the Orthodox Church calendar. This Sunday is called Koodhosh-Eetho Sunday. It means to “sanctify or purify the church.
